Price vs kit: At R389,900, you get a lot. Vegan leather seats, power-adjustable driver’s seat, wireless charging, 6 speakers, ambient lighting, and a 360° camera. The “full” ADAS suite includes adaptive cruise, AEB, lane departure warning. Practical EV basics: 39.4 kWh LFP battery gives 325 km WLTP range. 70 kW DC charging gets you 30-80% in ∼25 min. Plus V2L to power appliances during load-shedding. Rear-wheel drive & space: Unusual for this class. 85 kW/150 Nm motor feels peppy off the line - 0-50 km/h in 4.6s. 375L boot + 70L frunk + 36 storage spots make it surprisingly usable. Warranty: 4yr/150k km vehicle, 8yr/200k km battery, 5yr/100k km service plan. Roadside Assistance 5yr / Unlimited

Performance plateaus: 0-100 km/h takes 11.5s and top speed is limited to 130 km/h. It’s a city car, not a highway cruiser. Brand network is new: Geely only returned to SA in Nov 2025. 32 dealers now, 40 planned by end-2026. Resale and parts availability are unknowns. Build quality feels budget: Soft-touch materials help, but it’s still mostly hard plastics. No ANCAP/Euro NCAP rating yet.

Verdict: If you want the cheapest way into a well-equipped EV with decent range and V2L, the E2 Apex is it. It beats the Dolphin Surf on space and features for less money.
